Create Less, Promote More

The 80/20 Rule
You should only be spending 20% of your time creating and the other 80% promoting what you created.  Find new channels to spread on and make it easier than breathing to be able to share your content.  Search engines take into consideration where your content is going and the social engagement surrounding it.
  • Include social media icons on all of your articles/posts.  Make it EASY to share your content across the web.
  • Post consistently across your social media channels.  Staying consistent and engaging your online community increases your likelihood of having content spread.
  • Stay engaged with your social network.  Interact with them, thank them for sharing your posts and try to respond to all of their comments.
  • Ask your business team and colleagues to share your content with their social networks.  They have most likely connected with folks who will absolutely love your work.
For more even more time savers, use a social media management tool that actually posts for you.  There are paid and free applications such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Act-On and ScheduGram.  You may want to try several applications to see what works best with your brand and campaign strategy before you make a decision.
These are not DO ALL applications though.  They are simply there to save a little time.  You still have to create your own content, establish a marketing plan with solid search engine marketing plans and facilitate your own search engine optimization strategies.  You would only utilize these programs to help you post consistently across the board at certain times.

All About Value

“Content marketing is really like a first date.  If all you do is talk about yourself, there won’t be a second date.” – David Beebe When you produce content, it should be a genuine work that gives information, answers questions or solves problems.  The point to each piece of content should be solving a problem for your consumer or somehow, someway making their lives a little easier.  If your focus behind making content is simply to snare more consumers, you will achieve the opposite of what you intend. It’s similar to that movie “All About Eve” starring the late, great Bette Davis.  When everyone found out Eve had ulterior motives and was playing on everyone’s emotions just to get ahead, she was left utterly alone with her fledgling success and began to crumble.  If you produce content simply to boost your sales or increase your followers, consumers will smell it from a mile away and abandon you.  Any content that comes from you or your company must be genui
